The season of the witch
I love this time of year, darkening nights, the season turning, leaves shedding and nature preparing to hibernate and scale back.
Proper witching hour evenings.
Bonfires.
Magic and alchemy.
Nature always shows the way.
A literal and metaphorical shedding. Dying of the light, preparing for change.
A reminder of the cycle of death and rebirth that happens around us, to us and inside us always.
Things die back. To allow new growth under the surface.
There is a season for everything.
The seasons of nature.
The seasons of life.
And we cannot always be harvesting.
Sometimes we just need to be “being”.
Rather than doing.
Resting rather than running.
Listening rather than talking.
Allowing ourselves to be moving into winter.
And gently nurturing what we want to bring forth into spring.
So, for this week, here’s an invitation to sit and ponder some questions.
To consider what you may be planting now, that might support you in spring.
What seeds are you sowing to reach your future potential?
Are you giving yourself the nourishment that you need to grow?
Who are you truly, beneath the surface?
When is your season to flourish?
Is it time to look for fresh beginnings?
It’s your choice to decide where to place your focus and power.
And as Glenda the good witch says to Dorothy
“You’ve always had the power, my dear. It was in you all along.”
