Why Values Still Matter (Even When No One Replies to Your Proposal)

When I set up Tamsyn & Co., I knew I wanted to build something different. A business grounded in values, not just laminated and stuck on a wall, but truly lived. Every decision, every email, every conversation shaped by a few simple principles:

💛 We give without an agenda
🌟 We see the best in everyone (because everyone has a superpower)
🤝 We’re stronger together
💬 Kindness and empathy fuel our work
💡 And we treat everyone, clients, suppliers, partners, with love and understanding

Have I always nailed it? Of course not.

I’m human, not a halo-wearing robot. But these values have been my North Star. Especially when things get… murky.

Like when I generously share ideas, proposals, time and then get ghosted. Or worse, plagiarised.

Or sat through four “exploratory” meetings that turn out to be free consulting.

Or calls are cancelled with less than 5 minutes notice.

But, despite this, I still believe in showing up and giving with an open heart. Not because it’s easy, but because it’s who I choose to be.

And I encourage my clients to do the same. Especially when they need to have difficult conversations or challenge the status quo inside their own teams and businesses.

Yes, the world is noisy, busy and relentless. But how we do one thing is how we do all things.

And if you're truly living your values, you’ll do the right thing, even when it's inconvenient, even when no one’s watching.

I love what Alex Franzen says about selling without being pushy:

“My energy is hopeful yet unattached. If they say yes, wonderful, and if they decline, no problem. I trust that everything will work out beautifully for us both.”

Yes. That.

Kindness isn’t a nice to have, it’s the whole point. So, to the lovely folks in HR and leadership: a gentle nudge. A “no thank you” still counts as good manners. A quick reply costs nothing. And integrity is still the best business strategy going.

At Tamsyn & Co., we’ll keep choosing generosity. And trusting that the right clients, partners and collaborators will always find their way back to us.

Because the way we do business is the business.
