Burn the boats!

My conversation this week on Pivots and Plot Twists with Crystal Thompson sparked some thinking.

 Please excuse the pun.

About  burning stuff down to clear the ground and start afresh.

Be that in life, work or business.

Crystal told her story of literally starting her business over from scratch, including deleting her database and burning the metaphorical boats.

The freedom and creativity that space allowed for her to move her work in a new direction with certainty and clarity.

I’m not always an advocate for extreme change.

Nervous system regulation is always front and center of mind for self and clients alike.

But I am a massive fan of building bridges.

Even if you end up burning them when you get to the otherside.

Sometimes we need to go slow, and build a bridge.

That helps us go faster when we are ready to move.

Sometimes we need to find ways to get unstuck and not live the same year on repeat.

Find the spark of creativity that opens us up to new possibilities.

Helps us connect the dots to make meaning in what we are experiencing.

Often discomfort is a spark that is showing us where we need to grow.

If we just look and pay attention.

There are little sparks everywhere, that are lights that can guide us to see the change we crave.

What sparks are you seeing for yourself right now?

I’d love to know.
