Diving for the line
The conversations I am having right now seem to all have a common theme.
Time.
Or lack of.
Versus the list of things that need attention, action, delivery.
We are in the middle of October.
Let’s not even consider how that happened. Last time I looked up it was still May.
These last few months leading into winter always feel like “dive for the line” time.
And that can feel relentless.
On top of what is already a relentless and busy world.
As leaders, that can impact on our own sense of stability, and cause ripples out towards the people we are responsible to and for.
Because when we are at capacity and our brains and nervous systems are full, we can revert unconsciously back to old patterns and behaviours.
Too much stuff, not enough space, time and capacity.
Our cup literally spills over.
So for this week, can you find a little space to slow down.
Allow yourself to scale back and simplify what truly matters.
The real needle moving activities that will actually make a difference.
Versus the noise of everything else that may be on your list.
Do, delete, defer, delegate.
Because nothing good ever comes from rushing and reacting.
And in the space and quiet, you may find a brilliant solution.
