You don’t need more bikes and bananas
When I was in my senior HR corporate career, I spent quite a lot of time, worrying, planning, supporting and negotiating (with the CFO mostly, to get more budget) around people’s wellbeing.
What I know now is that it will take something far more than a EAP hotline, a fruit bowl and free drinks on a Friday ( *non-alcoholic apparently available ) to make the world of work feel better to many people.
If you are feeling frazzled as we edge nearer to that sweet spot called “December”, where we can kid ourselves that a little festive break will set us up well for 2025, only to find that in January we are on rinse and repeat once again, then maybe now the time to re-consider your plans.
Let’s get real—you’ve been hustling hard, climbing ladders, and ticking all the right boxes. On paper, you’ve nailed it. So why does it feel like you’re carrying a backpack stuffed with bricks?
Spoiler alert: it’s not because you need to “do more” or “be more.”
Here’s the kicker: the weight isn’t the workload. It’s the shoulds. The expectations. The voice in your head saying, “Don’t stop now, or they’ll all figure out you have no idea what you’re doing.” (Side-note:That voice is lying.)
And the exhaustion? It’s not because you’re “too much” or “not enough.”
It’s because you’ve been cramming your brilliant, creative, rebellious self into a box that doesn’t fit. No wonder you feel stuck—you weren’t designed to conform. You were meant to shake things up.
You think slowing down will make you irrelevant, that stepping off the hamster wheel is like announcing to the world, “I give up!” But what if, instead, it’s the ultimate boss move? What if letting go of all that baggage is the first step to creating a life that’s actually yours?
This isn’t about burning everything to the ground (unless you want to—then, go ahead, I’ll bring marshmallows). It’s about building a bridge to something that feels lighter. Truer. Like you.
You’ve known for ages the system wasn’t built for someone like you. And let’s be honest, you’ve been side-eyeing that life of freedom and purpose, wondering, Could I really do it? (Hint: yes, you can.)
So, here’s the deal: stop waiting for the right time, the perfect plan, or someone to give you permission. The life you want isn’t going to create itself.
Your next chapter’s ready for you. The question is, are you ready to drop the bricks and go for it?
If you are, let’s chat.
With love
