Are you getting eaten alive?

By the Sunday night scaries I mean.

You know, that gnawing, insidious pit-dwelling creature of anxiety?

Often it knocks on your door somewhere between 11am and late afternoon on a Sunday.

If it’s really broken its leash, it could be tapping on your shoulder on a Saturday morning.

Or perhaps it’s permanently moved in, hanging out on the regular.

And however, much you coax, coach, encourage or beg it to go, try and drown it in wine or pizza, it just isn’t getting the hint.

In our lifetime, we will on average spend a quarter of our precious time “doing work”.

When you add in sleep, housework, looking after kids, dogs, parents, the houseplants, you’d better make that time be of worth.

Time is finite and it’s also passing. It’s so vital to get honest with ourselves about what we want to do with the rest of our time.

I speak to many people who simply hate their jobs. Not challenged, growing, learning or happy in what they do each day.

They want to desperately find the key to break away from toxic bosses, toxic workplaces or toxic thoughts they are holding about their own abilities. To help them cope, I’ll often hear them say they’ve joined the “just need to” club.

Just need to wait for my bonus.

Just need to get to the end of the year.

Just need to sleep more and drink less.

Just need to…insert relevant excuse here.

As you read this sentence, you’ll never be this age again, have this amount of time again.

If you are waiting for a sign that change is needed, the sign is that Your Life Is Happening Now.

Your time is now.

Life is too short to spend it working on something or for someone that doesn’t light you up, bring you joy, spark your passion and purpose.

If you want to get clear on a career shift upwards, outwards or in a new direction entirely, maybe start up your own thing, I can help you.

I’ve navigated all the above at different times in my own career and have helped dozens of others do the same.

I’m Tamsyn. A creative change-maker who is on a mission to help you make the world of your work, better. I’m a facilitator, trainer, coach and writer and my work is fuelled by helping you find passion, purpose, growth, potential and renewal in your work.

If you want to see how we could work together book a discovery call with me here.

If you want to hear some inspiring stories of how others have navigated their own career and life changes, go here.

And I hope that this weekend is finally the time that you show your Sunday scaries the quickest route to back out the door.
